#Lentspiration for March 5

From praying for the global witness of the church yesterday we turn to the ins and outs (and ups and downs!) of our local churches and congregations. The most essential thing you can do for your church is to pray for it. It’s more important than tithing. A church can keep going without funds if the Spirit’s right… But even with funds, a church missing the Spirit can’t!

Today’s prayer:

Your church needs your prayer! Pray for your church: the congregation, leaders and staff,
for its influence and territory. Ask the Lord if there is someone he wants you to intercede
for; pray for them. Don’t forget the other churches in your community! Pray for them, their congregations and leadership. Pray for your local chaplains. Pray for those who minister to the youth.

Ephesians 2:19-22 (VOICE)

19 And so you are no longer called outcasts and wanderers but citizens with God’s people, members of God’s holy family, and residents of His household. 20 You are being built on a solid foundation: the message of the prophets and the voices of God’s chosen emissaries with Jesus, the Anointed Himself, the precious cornerstone. 21 The building is joined together stone by stone—all of us chosen and sealed in Him, rising up to become a holy temple in the Lord. 22 In Him you are being built together, creating a sacred dwelling place among you where God can live in the Spirit.
