Domestic violence and the abuse of minors are crimes that often go “unnoticed” in our communities and churches. Consider spending time interceding specifically against this type of violence. Pray for its victims. Pray that their abusers would be exposed and face justice. Is there someone in your life you feel burdened to pray for? Reach out to them.
Psalm 10:17-18 (NIV)
17 You, Lord, hear the desire of the afflicted;
you encourage them, and you listen to their cry,
18 defending the fatherless and the oppressed,
so that mere earthly mortals
will never again strike terror.
Proverbs 6:16-19 (KJV)
16 These six things doth the Lord hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him:
17 A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,
18 An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief,
19 A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.
