Most of us are fortunate enough to live in places where we have ready access to reliable and affordable health care. But as we can see from the recent “Obamacare” reforms, even in first world countries, access to healthcare isn’t always regarded as a basic human right. Praying for our local healthcare facilities and the many healthcare workers in our communities is of paramount importance.
Spend time in prayer today for the healthcare facilities in your community and for their staff. Don’t forget the social and welfare workers, hospice carers, retirement home staff, dentists, homoeopaths and those who deal with mental illness or who counsel people. Consider “adopting” a local care facility and regularly praying for them.
2 Corinthians 1:3-4 (HCSB)
3 Praise the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and the God of all comfort. 4 He comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any kind of affliction, through the comfort we ourselves receive from God.
