When entering a time of focused intercession, as we’ll be trying to do this Lent, it’s important to pray for protection. There will be plenty of things trying to distract or dispirit us. Rather than give in to this, we pray for the Lord’s protection and guidance. His Light always exposes the lies of the enemy.
Begin by praying for yourself and your loved ones. Spend time interceding for yourself,
your spouse, children, parents, grandparents and friends. Pray specifically for protection
Psalm 5:11 (NIV)
But let all who take refuge in you be glad;
let them ever sing for joy.
Spread your protection over them,
that those who love your name may rejoice in you.
2 Thessalonians 3:3 (KJV)
But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil.
Psalm 25:4-5 (AMPC)
Show me Your ways, O Lord; teach me Your paths. Guide me in Your truth and faithfulness and teach me, for You are the God of my salvation; for You [You only and altogether] do I wait [expectantly] all the day long.
